Ambassador Wu Hailong Stated to the Twenty-Firth Session of Working Group B of CTBTO Preparatory Commission on Budgetary Issues

The Second part of Twenty-Fifth Session of Working Group B was held from 29 August to 9 September 2005.

In his speech delivered to the Working Group, Ambassador Wu Hailong pointed out that, stemming from China's persistent position, China supported the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and the smooth functioning of the Preparatory Commission. China supported to provide necessary and adequate resources to the PrepCom, so that the Provision Technical Secretariat could fulfill its preparatory task fully according to its mandate. Meanwhile, China is of the view that the financial burden of the Signatory States should also be taken into account during budget planning and the 2006 budget should be kept at real-zero growth as far as possible.
