The Statement by the Head of Chinese Delegation, H. E. Ambassador Mr. Hu Xiaodi at Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency on the DPRK Nuclear Issue on March 3, 2010

2010/03/06

Mr. Chairman,

The situation concerning the DPRK nuclear issue has eased to some extent with the efforts made by all parties. There have emerged positive changes in DPRK's position on the Six-Party Talks and there is an opportunity for the resumption of the Six-Party Talks and further promotion of the denuclearization process on the Peninsular. Under the current situation, all parties should make common efforts, stay in engagement and dialogue and show flexibility to create conditions and atmosphere for the resumption of the Six-Party Talks.

China is willing to work with all the parties concerned and the international community to find at an early date an appropriate solution which takes into account the concerns of all parties, continue to promote the process of the Six-Party Talks and play a constructive role for achieving denuclearization on the Peninsular and maintaining peace and stability in northeast Asia.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
